School Council are busy busy busy already for this academic year!

The elections took place at the end of October. Students that wanted to, put themselves forward as representatives for their class and then on election day, Post 16c manned the voting station and all classes came and voted for the representative for their class!

There was a draw in class 4 but other than that there was a clear winner and second place for each class (the second person will act as deputy for when the the representative cant attend a meeting)

Straight away there were jobs to do. In the first meeting, the representatives showed their mature skills in the art of compromise when deciding what badge to have. In the end, a red shield badge was chosen.

On 11/11/2015, Remembrance Day, the school council had their first important trip out. They went to the Boer War Memorial to lay a poppy wreath to remember all the fallen soldiers that have fought for our country. Excellent Ambassadors of Dryden School.

On Wednesday 25th November at 3.30pm we have been invited to go to the Low Fell Christmas Light Switch On which will be lots of fun! Dryden is in full swing of Christmas as we prepare for the Christmas fair, which is on Thursday 26th November at 1pm.

Other important jobs this term include planning the Christmas party (in aid of CRISIS, a charity that raises money for homeless people) and decorating the Christmas tree to brighten up Dryden School reception!

We will report back in January 2016 to update you on the Christmas term and tell  you what’s coming up!
